Could anybody tell us how to work with the data type X11.Long? What kind
of type is it (float, string,...)?

The standard X11 C headers don't define any Long of their own, so I
suppose the Long you're looking for will be a standard C long as in
Interfaces.C.long.
Do you not have access to the source of this X11 package you are
using? that would tell you!
