It is a valid concern but as I like to point out, I believe C++ as 
pretty much peaked as well. Java, C#, Ruby, Python and PHP and others 
are all taking various portions of the market.

One of the state schools in the area just dropped C++ as the primary 
teach language (still offered)...

The best evidence that C++ is on its way out is that now in many DoD 
contractors, they just assume that all projects should be C++. By the 
time the DoD contractors start using something, you can be pretty much 
bank on it being obsolete :)
