To each his own. If code is not "properly formatted", I sometimes
spend enough time being bothered by it that it's worth fixing. I
invested time teaching Emacs how to fix the simple problems, so it's
very efficient for me to fix formatting most of the time.

ACT is happy to accept patches that fix such things, even though they
don't promise to fix them on their own.
