- remote editing (ange-ftp)
- edit directly content of .tar, .tar.gz and .tar.bz2.
- read mail
- read news
- shell (far better than the standard Windows shell)
- keep session (restart Emacs and it open all buffers and place the cursor
  at the right position)
- integrated VC + PCL-CVS (version control at the same level as dired mode)
- search/replace in multiple files
- hightly configurable
- ...

I know that a lot of editors does part of that, but I do not know another
editor that support _all_ of these features.
