On GNU/Linux Debian that's quite easy!
You have too add the proper ODBC support packages:
$ apt-get install odbc-postgresql
$ apt-get install unixodbc
$ apt-get install unixodbc-dev
Then you need to register your DSN in ~/.odbc.ini. That's all. I agree that
it is a bit easier on Windows but not that much I would say...
