Hi all!

I'm studying computer science at Munich Technical University and I'm
desperately looking for an Ada compiler for QNX/x86.
I would need a good (and CHEAP) compiler for VxWorks/x86 for a college
project, too!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
TIA
Holger

GNAT is available for VxWorks so you may find it fairly easy to
come up with a VxWorks on x86 compiler from the GNAT sources. There
is no Ada implementation for QNX so far as I have heard, but you
may still be able to port GNAT over yourself.

As far as I am aware, GNAT PRO is available for VxWorks but:

1) I Don't know howmuch it costs
2) I can't find which target processors are supported (although I
imagine x86 would more than likely be one!).

Alternatively, Green Hills Ada is good for VxWorks.

Thanks a lot!
I decided to play with Linux and Ada at home, forgetting QNX :-p

It may still be worth experimenting with QNX later because it is a reptutable
realtime OS and is free for noncommerical work. I agree that if you need to
do your project quickly it might not be worthwhile to use it right now.

Ooooh, don't misunderstand me: I just looooooove QNX, but I have to do an
ADA Project!
I already asked if I could use QNX and C, but the prof. wants me to "use Ada
because it's designed for real-time programming". Anyway..

HAGD!

If you want do realtime experiments with Ada look at

Who is this prof, he seems to be better than many others that I know
(who all want do anything at anytime everywhere with Java).

Well that's one BIG reson why I decided to do the project at this department
at college. I'm really getting sick of this Java-mania, and even though I'm
too young to be one of the early programmers I still feel far more
comfortable using an assembler and c-compiler than using Java for anything
and everything.

It was active a few months ago, but it seems to be removed now. You might
be able to get some of the content by searching for Ravenscar Ada on
HTTP://WWW.Google.com and choosing the cached hit but doing so is causing
Netscape to crash on me at the moment.
