You must keep in mind that renaming ignores subtype contraints. So:

    X : Integer := -1;
    Y : Positive renames X; -- Let's fool ourselves
begin
    Put_Line ("A positive number " & Integer'Image (Y));

Will happily print "A positive number -1."
