Are there any C-to-Ada translation utility that is only pure Ada source
code which does not require any additional software (except Ada compiler)
to be used on win32 machine ?
C2ada utility which can be accessed from www.adahome.com
requires Python to be installed on one's PC.
It also requires that GPERF should be build and installed on the PC as well.
Too much hassle if I do not need to use C2Ada on a constant day-per day
basis.
I thought that Ada enough powerful for building such kind of utilities
without
need of any other support tools and languages.
There were many discussions here that Ada is better than C.
I think that C-to-Ada translation utility built entirely from Ada
source code could be of great use to support that idea.
As for I need this utility to translate some MathCad C *.h files to Ada
specs.
These header files are supplied by MathSoft to build custom DLLs with
user functions using C .
Everything works fine with MSVC but I want to combine MathCAD power
with power of Ada. This idea came up to me during recent discussion
about scientific calculations.
Regards.
P.S. I think it would be nice if such utility would be included in future
releases of GNAT.
