I'm hoping to speed up the process, but I've tried everything from teh download button and sync button but it seems I have to exit the debugger then re-download to the target platform. Is this normal? "Steven Deller" <deller@smsail.com> wrote in message news:mailman.1017887882.30291.comp.lang.ada@ada.eu.org... > Considerable (17 years with Rational) experience. Merhaba Hamou, You may download a copy of my booklet, Ada Distilled, from www.adaic.org. It is a starting point, but not a book on advanced Ada. Also get a copy of Ada As A Second Language by Norm Cohen and Concurrency in Ada by Burns and Wellings. You should also develop a friendship with one of the other Ada programmers in your organization so you have someone who can answer questions or give you direction as you go. If you're just trying to learn Ada well enough to get your job done, you can find lots of books available at: http://www.adapower.com/ (See the "Books" tab) There are also on-line books/tutorials there as well. (See the "Learn Ada" tab) If you want help on some specific piece of Ada code that you have trouble with, post a code snippet here and chances are someone will answer you. Try to be a little more specific with your question & maybe we can be more helpful. On the other side, you have the hardware spec for the HUD itself, that tells you how to set up graphics and such on the HUD. (If you're simulating a HUD on a PC, then you have the PC graphics library, or maybe X-Windows. Whatever.) The mechanization group should be telling you what they want displayed and how, and what the controls should do. Additionally, your systems engineer should have written a requirements specification. The rest is a Simple Matter of Programming. SERIOUSLY: Liberate yourself a copy of the user's manual for an existing HUD, and figure out CONCEPTUALLY how you'd do it. TRADITIONALLY, you're going to have vertical scales for altitude and air speed, maybe with annotations and extra markings to show "interesting" values, a horizontal scale for heading, a flight path marker to show exactly where the aircraft velocity vector is going, and horizon lines (one for the horizon, then lines above and below to give convenient markings for various climb or descent angles. ALTERNATIVELY: Buy a copy of the latest version of "Falcon", the computer game. It will give you a very good introduction to the F-16 avionics, including the HUD. If any of the terms "altitude", "air speed", or "heading" gave you any trouble, you need to get some basic education in flying.
