Last year I wrote a telecom application using gnat 3.13 on top of Red
Hat 7.0. Since I had really limited socket needs I implemented some thin
bindings myself that supported the Packet_Socket. The whole experience
with Packet or Raw socket was however it was very poor documented for
Linux. In the latest 3.14 release of gnat I have seen there is built in
Socket support. Has anyone tried using that built in support with Raw or
Packet sockets ?
This is only a 5000 line hobby project, but it would feel good to make
the code a bit more portable than what I believe it to be today,
different Unixes using different formats for Raw/Packet sockets. If it
would be portable even too the Windows platform, that would be even better.
