The information may be found by looking in the section of the Top Secret
GNAT User's Guide, obsurely-named The Ada Library Information Files

The last paragraph of that section says:
"For a full detailed description of the format of the `ali' file, see the
source of the body of unit Lib.Writ, contained in file `lib-writ.adb'
in the GNAT compiler sources."

The GNAT documentation is always a better source of information about
GNAT, than is a Web search.
