  I am a software engineer at LMCO and have no interest in C++.  I
specifically applied for a job using Ada 95, coming out of the dot bomb
arena.  I think you are focusing on the wrong people in wondering why it has
gone C++.  Functional managers want things done a certain way, and they
decide.  If programmers newly hired dont even know what Ada is (I've met
some like that), they aren't going to even have an opinion on the matter,
much less feedback if asked. ( "Would you like a job programming in Ada?" -
"Um, what's that?")  And of course many younger employees want C++ because
that is what they learned in school (in many cases) so that's their skill
set, or, yes, they want to get paid to learn it in the first place, for job
security and mobility.
