Since you use a distribution that uses the RPM package format, you
should use these packages instead.
You will find the RPMS here: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/linux-ada/
And if you want to make apps with a GUI you can find a really good
toolkit here:

I'm using a RedHat 6.0 system so it should work nicely for you too as
Mandrake is more or less a copy of RedHat.
