This month's feature:  Ada Semantic Interface Specification (ASIS)
ASIS is a layered, open architecture providing vendor-independent access to
the Ada Library Environment.  ASIS is a de facto standard, accepted by other
major Ada vendors, and an Ada 95 specification is being promoted as an ISO
standard by the SIGAda sponsored ASIS Working Group.  Third parties can
employ ASIS to build software tools, like debuggers and smart editors.

The talk will cover these following topics:
 What is ASIS
 Benefits of ASIS
 ASISWG plans and schedule
 How to get ASIS
 ASIS architecture
 ASIS for Ada 95

Steve Blake personal information:

At Thomson Software Products, Mr. Blake is currently the Engineering Manager
for Unix native Ada backend technology.  He leads an Ada 95 code generator
adaptation to the HPPA RISC Architecture and a common SPARC and HP code
generator restructuring project to improve adaptability.

He is known as the technical architect of the Ada Semantic Interface
Specification (ASIS).

Time: 6:30 PM

Directions:

From 805 going North:  Take the Mira Mesa Blvd./Vista Sorrento Parkway
exit.  Stay on the left side of the exit ramp. After the traffic light at
Mira Mesa Blvd., go about 0.5 miles North West.  Thomson is on the right
hand side, 10251 Vista Sorrento Parkway.  You need to look for the Thomson
sign on the right.  It is located after a bend in the road. You need to be
careful not be going so quickly that you zoom past the driveway into
Thomson.  If you exit 805 going North in any of the right N lanes,
you will be forced to turn right onto Mira Mesa Blvd.

From 805 going South: Take the Mira Mesa Blvd./Sorrento Valley Road exit.
Turn left onto Mira Mesa Blvd.  Take the first left onto Vista Sorrento
Parkway (at the signal just beyond the freeway overpass).
Go about 0.5 miles North West.  Thomson is on the right hand side, 10251
Vista Sorrento Parkway.   You need to look for the Thomson sign on the
right.  It is located after a bend in the road. You need to be careful not
be going so quickly that you zoom past the driveway into Thomson.
