Hello ,
Windows 7 x64 :

Is this the same comp.lang.ada Group that is on
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/comp.lang.ada/ ?

I am looking for a home/hobby-ist version of ADA .
I am used to a all in one .zip Visual-GUI-IDE .
The version that I downloaded from here :
 ftp://ftp.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/pub/Ada-Belgium/mirrors/aide/1.03/index.html
Seems a bit old .

Is there a newer and perhaps smaller version ?
I am a bit in overwhelm by so many pieces to ADA , gnat , aide , gtk ,...........
Is there a flowDiagram of the pieces ?

Thanks for your help...Vernon

Ada is a proper name, thus it is generally incorrect to use all-caps like ADA.

Gnat, AIDE, and GTK are not a part of Ada.
GNAT is a compiler.
GTK is Gnome Tool-Kit (or possibly GIMP Tool-Kit) and is [AFAIK] a collection of GUI widgets [i.e. GUI framework].
AIDE appears to be an entire development environment.

Since some are completely unrelated. like GTK, no.

I think you need a basic Ada compiler and a simple IDE. By the way, Ada language is spelled as Ada in honor of Ada Lovelace who is considered the world first programmer.

1. For an Ada compiler for window, download gnat-gpl-2012-i686-pc-mingw32-bin.exe at http://libre.adacore.com/download/. Note that you need to register before you can download it.

2. Download Adagide at http://sourceforge.net/projects/adagide/.

Good luck and welcome to Ada community.

Don't know when it was changed, but it's already been like this for some
longer time now.

Bye...
