Please do not patronize net-abusers at Alsys/Thompson software

[Dr. Dimitri Vulis]

A few days ago I received a harrassing e-mail spam from Keith Thompson,
<kst@alsys.com>.  I asked postmaster@alsys.com to tell Thompson not to
send any more e-mail to anyone in the dm.com domain. I received no response
from the postmaster, but we've received two more harrassing e-mails from
Thompson, addressed to various postmasters.

Keith Thompson is a net-abuser. Please don't buy anything from his company
(Alsys/Thompson Software). I used their Alsys Ada some years ago and it
really sucked big time. Now this creep is harrassing me by e-mail.

Disagree in every respect. I've personally used Alsys Ada in its previous 
incarnations for nearly 10 years, and it's always been one of the very best.
HCI could be greatly improved in the early versions, but the latest $99 special does 
that. The last time I used the product was to make an AI system in Australia, which 
was then ported to Dec-Ada and the Einterstein compiler for the 690x0 without a 
single change. This is a Production Quality compiler, capable of producing 
components in multi-million-SLOC systems.

Had it not been for the factually-challenged and commercially damaging post you've 
put at the end, I would have just ignored the whole thing. But there may well be 
people out there who would take your - ah - used food? - at face value. In which 
case they'd miss what in my experience is the cheapest production-quality compiler 
around for Ada-83. GNAT is the best for learning Ada OTOH.


OK, if this was a Troll, I've bitten. 'Nuff said.

That would be a neat trick, seeing as the e-mail address you report below 
is on a machine that does not exist. Example:

Sigh.  I suppose this calls for some explanation.  None of this is
particularly relevant to any of these newsgroups, so feel free to
skip the rest of this article.  I would probably ignore it altogether,
but now my employer and I have both been attacked.  (By the way, the
company is *Thomson* Software Products.  My name is Keith *Thompson*.
It's not named after me.  I just work here.)

I did indeed send an e-mail message to dlv@bwalk.dm.com (Dr. Dimitri
Vulis).  In it, I asked him and several others, briefly and politely,
to keep a certain discussion out of comp.lang.ada.

He then sent e-mail to my postmaster, complaining that I was harassing
him.

I then sent e-mail to his postmaster, explaining the situation.  I also
told his postmaster that I have no intention of communicating with Dr.
Vulis in the future.

Am I a net-abuser?  Am I a creep?  Have I harassed anyone?  Judge for
yourselves, but please don't discuss it in these newsgroups.

As far as I'm concerned, this matter is closed.  Please let this thread
die now.

                    JUST HOW STUPID IS TED DENNISON?

a. Ted is so stupid, he works for minimal wages and can't afford a "real"
account. He posts his idiocy from Lockheed Martin Information Systems's
account, causing acute embarassment to whoever made the mistake of hiring
Ted as an ADA coder.

c. Ted is so stupid, he uses Alsys Ada, thus supporting net-abuse and spam.

Please tell Alsys that you refuse to buy their products - both because
they suck, and to protest net-abuse (spamming and e-mail harrassment)
by Keith Thompson (kst@alsys.com).
