While this may have been true at one point, at this stage it is serious
disinformation :-)
There is a freely available implementation of Ada 95 that is widely used
by major commercial customers. It is GNAT, the GNU Ada 95 compiler, part
of the GCC system. GNAT is fully validated on a wide range of systems,
and is in fact the *only* Ada 95 technology that implements the full
Ada 95 language and passes 100% of the ACVC tests).
GNAT is available freely on many mirror sites on the net (check out
www.gnat.com for a list of sites).
You might think that this kind of free availability would eliminate
price competition, but nothing could be further from the truth! Aonix
has an Ada 95 compiler for Windows NT/Win 95 and competes energetically
with GNAT. Limited capability versions of the Aonix Object-Ada compiler
are available for free downloading, and fully capable versions are sold
at very low prices, fully comparable with the price scale established by
MS and Borland for Pascal and C.
