I'm sure this has been asked before but it GNAT capable
of being a cross compiler for an embedded system?
For example, source code lives on a Sun SPARC (Solaris) and
target is a Motorola 68020.

I would assume you'd need a different version of gcc to
generate the target code. What's the best way to do this?

If this is an FAQ, please point me to the appropriate source.

Thanks

Yes, it is very definitely possible to build cross compilers using the
GNAT technology. One of our customers for example, just completed a
test flight of an aircraft whose avionics system used a cross-port
of GNAT to the Intel i960.

Ada Core Technologies does not provide off-the-shelf packaged solutions
for embedded applications of GNAT, but we are happy to work with customers
to develop and supprot such technologies. Please get in touch with
support@gnat.com for further details.
