GNAT 3.05 is available

GNAT version 3.05 is available for the following targets:

Sparc SunOS
Sparc Solaris
Dec Alpha Digital Unix (OSF 3.2)
SGI IRIX 5.3
DOS
Linux ELF (x86)
IBM OS2
IBM RS600 AIX 3.2

Version 3.05 is mostly bug fixes (including notably fixes to two annoying
bugs that showed up in 3.04, concerning stream attributes for tagged types
and incorrect results from aggregate assignments -- plus many other fixes).

A notable new feature is that tight packing of arrays is now supported for
all component sizes up to 32 bits. The efficiency of code for packed array
operations has also been improved.

Also notable is that for the SGI, the ACVC profile is a superset of the
ACVC profile obtained during validation, which means that we can supply
formally validated versions of the SGI port.

Gnat 3.05 is now also available for the Apple Power Macintosh 
as well as Gnat 3.04 for the 68k Apple Macintosh.

MacOS bindings to allow gnat to generate MacOS applications
with standard Mac GUI features will be available next week,
along with examples of Mac Apps written with Gnat.

We hope to have tasking available for the Powermac port in
August.

Ada-Belgium ftp-archive shortly after the first beta-release (Thursday
96/23/5).

we found a few problems with the 3.05 installer.  workarounds to
avoid redownloading entire package are documented in our ftp site
in the PPC directory as README.ERRORS.

A new upload will be done in the next few hours.
