Umm, can you learn to read just a ltitle more carefully, my message
(and the README file!) says pub/gnat/private/old, not pub/gnat/private.
I just looked there and found:

  gnat-3.01-sparc-sun-solaris2.3-bin.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-sparc-sun-sunos4.1.3-bin.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-alpha-dec-osf2.0-bin.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-mips-sgi-irix5.3-bin.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-src.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-linux+elf.readme
  gnat-3.01-linux+elf.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-dos-bin-disk1.zip
  gnat-3.01-dos-bin-disk2.zip
  gnat-3.01-dos-bin-disk3.zip
  gnat-3.01-i386-unknown-solaris2.4-bin.tar.gz
  gnat-3.01-i386-unknown-solaris2.4-readme
  tar-winnt.exe.gz
  gzip-winnt.exe

Looks like gnat-3.01-src.tar.gz might just be what you are looking for.
I know we try hard to hide this, by putting clear documentation in the
README file, which indeed points to where stuff is, but others have
somehow managed to find the items anyway :-)
