Installation of GNAT-3.01 for HP-UX

Hi,

	I've just installed GNAT 3.01 on an HP 712/80
workstation with HP-UX 9.05 (it seems that GNAT 3.03 is 
not available for HP-UX), after installing gcc 2.7.2.

	When I try to compile 'hello.adb', I get
the following message:

	
>gcc -c hello.adb
gcc: hello.adb: linker input file unused since linking not done

No hello.ali file is created (nothing is created).

However, gcc -c works fine on .c files (creates .o files).

	Can someone tell me what may the problem be with
this installation ?

You really should send basic installation questoins like this to 
report@gnat.com as requeted in the documentation. The problem is
simply that you did not follow the installation directions
carefully -- start again from scratch, and do EXACTLY what the
directions say!

The problem is that you are using the old (Ada unaware) version
of gcc that does not recognize the .adb extension, and this can
only come from an installation error.

Try installing again, and if you still have trouble, send email to 
report@gnat.com with a full script of your installation.
