A big problem in many discussions of this type is
this concept of "better".
It's like friends/family of IT people that ask the
ever annoying question:
"What is the best PC that I can buy?"
The answer of course is that "It depends!"
I can think of many factors in favour of open sourced projects,
and perhaps a few things in favour of shrink wrap.
I could add what I like, you can state yours, but
in the end, I don't think anyone here is going
to have the all definitive answer. 8)
