I took a look at some of the things relating to L4 - I could not get to the
site that came up when searching for a bibliography:
http://os.inf.tu-dresden.de/L4/bib.html Maybe the server is down.

Just from a brief inspection, I'd observe that the API specification is
basically a language independent thing which might indicate that there is
room for an Ada implementation. Also, it is at a low enough level that it
might not take forever to implement, yet could still be useful. It would
also show off Ada's strengths in the way of getting down to the bare
silicon - plenty of opportunities for representation clauses and the like.

There would probably be a need to build more than just an Ada version of L4
in order to have something hobbyists could play with, but if it could be
brought up and running on a garden variety PC, it would constitute A Good
Start. It looks like an appropriate level of ambition for an AdaOS project
and the hard work of doing requirements, etc is already handled.
