Hi,
If you are using Gnat, look at the file "text_io.ads"
in the Gnat installed directory tree,
/usr/gnat/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/2.8.1/adainclude/text_io.ads
on a Linux distribution.

They are the same :-) Put is for when you want to write something
without jumping to the next line after it. Put_Line will do that.
