Hi,
Just saw that a Modula-2 compiler (Stony Brook) has been recently
released as freeware:
http://modula2.org/adwm2/
IIRC it is reputed to produce very compact and fast machine code.
A nice project would be to plug an Ada front-end to it and see the
result...
