Michael didn't say the he wants to have universal monolithic libraries and 
throw all other developments away.

I agree with Michael that it's better for the Ada community to work 
together to develop good universal solutions which fit the needs of many. 
That doesn't mean that these developments fit the needs of everyone and 
every application.

See Mono (and DotGNU): They develop a new library standard for GTK/Gnome 
and don't pay much attention if these standards are compatible with .NET in 
the future (due to possible patent restrictions). They just see the power 
of standard libraries which help them to develop new applications with less 
effort in much shorter time than before. That doesn't mean that you cannot 
continue to write GTK/Gnome applications with the old libraries.
