 This is wrong.
 For Linux on Alpha, Compaq gives you at least free access to 
 a Fortran-95 Compiler which is of very high quality.
 For Linux on Intel-x86 or Itanium, Intel gives you free access
 to their compilers, which are at least usable.

 Warner
