How do I tell Ada to open a file,  not text,  so I can delete it,  it
thinks that every thing should be dat or txt. (*&#_()#*$&)#(@^&*#^@$#

Always try to give more information when you ask a question like this. We
need to know

a) what compiler you are using
b) what operating system and machine you are using
c) exactly what you are trying to do
d) what is in the file
e) how do you want to read it

etc. Maybe someone else can guess from your extensions (dat/txt) what
compiler you are using, and it will ring a bell, but more people can
help you if you give more detail.
