	It handles:
		CR separators
		LF separators
		CR/LF separators
		counted lines with no separator characters

You can lead an operating system to standards but you cannot make it drink :-)
Perhaps the originators of Linux decided to only partially implement the
standard because the standards group charges money for a copy :-)
