This is one of those things that should be a FAQ. There's a perfectly
good line counter on Simtel-20, written by Bill Whitaker a long time
ago.

p.s. If your customer lets you charge per line of code, you have a
cash cow, and a fool for a customer. I'd love to be able to charge
per line of code. Boy, would my coding style change!
