Does anyone know of a good quality picture of Augusta Ada, Countess of
Lovelace. We're making a T-shirt and we're looking for a scanable
picture to use in the design. Any references would be greatly
appreciated.

There's one already in PostScript form on the AJPO machine.

Looks like T-shirts are the Rational promo at Tri-Ada, yes?

A further note: ladyada.ps chokes Hewlett-Packard printers. A pass
through pstoepsi cured that problem.

I found that there's an extraneous control-D character at the beginning
of the file. Since the file is over half a megabyte, mostly on one
line (!), you may not be able to edit it. If you're on a Unix system,
something like this should work:
tail +2c ladyada.ps > ladyada.fixed.ps
(but first "head -1 ladyada.ps | cat -v" to verify that the control-D
is there.)

I downloaded ladayada.ps at ~1/2 megabyte. I encountered the ^D
and all-on-one-line problem, too, but solved it by running the file
through pslinewrap (available from the Adobe file server).
I wanted to save the PS image, but at ~1/2 megabyte, it was of
marginal utility. However, the file (typical of many PS files with
big images) compresses to ~78 kb. Even uuencoded it is ~108 kb.
Regards,
Bill

Thanks to Steve Masticola and Keith Thompson for pointing out the
problem with "ladyada.ps" and providing a solution. The extraneous
control-D character has been removed from the file. Hope this helps!
