I am looking for Ada bindings for the UNIX OS or better yet full
bindings to POSIX (i.e. P1003.5). As a starting point just the
P1003.5 spec would be useful.

Thanks,

Stuart Adams

Unfortunately, the IEEE holds copyright over the POSIX/Ada work,
including the package specs. We are working on terms and conditions
with the IEEE to make the package specs 'ftp-able', but for now they
are not publically available.

It looks right now that Draft 8 will become the standard, and with
luck, it will be approved by the IEEE in June. We are still working
on the objections from the most recent ballot, but it looks hopeful.

There has been an increasing demand for electronic access to IEEE
standards. The IEEE currently does not support electronic
distribution, instead they'll sell you hard-copies. If you'd like to
see this change and are a member of the IEEE or IEEE-CS, you should
write to the IEEE leadership and express your opinion. I will point
out that proceeds from the sale of standards helps support the IEEE
standards process (and if you've never worked on a standard, trust me,
it's not cheap...)
