Therein lies the rub! If some company produces a widget that *isn't* in the
lab being debugged, that's where the consumer will buy from. With time to
market being what it is, it pays to get it right the first time.
I got the feeling that Mike's post was a bit tongue-in-cheek - trying to
illustrate one of the reasons programmers may prefer C. There may be some
truth in there - but I think most programmers want to do a good job.
Possibly spending lots of time in the lab with an analyzer and a debugger is
perceived as "doing a good job" - or at least maybe the "fun" part of the
job.
