I think the Ada community would really benifit from a
reverse mapping between Ada95 and Corba IDL. This means
one can develop in Ada and have a tool automatically generate IDL.
  There already exists an IDL to Ada mapping and tools that support
this. Developing IDL from existing Ada is rather time consuming
and counter productive if you are only doing it so someone someday
may interface to it (versus using the native Ada capability of
using it.)

It might make sense to restrict the mapping to valid distributed
Ada programs that have been tagged with the
pragmas: Pure, Remote_call_interface .. but that is up for
discussion.

Is anyone working on this, and/or would people like to be
involved in this effort?

There is similar work from the OMG that is a RFP (Request for Proposal)
for the Java -> IDL reverse mapping.
eg:   http://www.omg.org/docs/orbos/96-12-12.PDF

Thanks.
