Course Summary

An innovative approach to system requirements, the DoD Advanced Requirements
(DAR) Workshop is distinguishable from other training approaches by its level of
critical system requirements quantification. This approach is based on a defined
"Language" for specification which introduces rigor and clarity to any
specification process. This course is useful for any level of setting
objectives, goals, requirements, etc. It is applicable to any DoD domain,
including software, systems, acquisition, top management planning,
organizational improvement planning, and war planning.

Course Design

This course is tailored to DoD needs. It is based on lectures, discussions,
mini-exams, and practical workshops using real case studies. Training for each
day is scheduled from
8:30 am until 4:30 pm.

   * Day One .............Dedicated to Executive Level participants to discuss
advanced system requirements and their practical implementation. Limited
seating is available.

   * Days Two-Five....Dedicated to Project Management participants for practical
information using real case studies. Participants are encouraged to bring
documentation from their particular area of interest for analysis. Limited
seating is available.

About the Instructor

co-author of many books, including Software Metrics, Data Engineering (Student
literature AB, 1975), Humanized Input (with Gerald M. Weinberg, Winthrop, 1977),

Al,

How does this course fit into the context of writing performance based
specifications? Does it address this Acquisition Reform initiative adequately
and who has validated the approach if so?

Mike

Mike:

Al forwarded me this for comment. In response, my view is that (1) "does
this course fit into the context of writing performance based
specifications"---yes it does. (2) "Does it address this Aquisition Reform
Initiative adequately"---I am the person to address this issue. (3) "and who
has validated this approach"--We have not had the funds to validate, but
would like to. Do you know of a source to pay for this validation?

As always, we stand by to help.

Norm
