SUBJECT: Attention DoD Users / Closing of SIMTEL20
You have been notified of the closing of the SIMTEL20. That closing
resulted from a lack of funds and a determination that maintenance of
software repositories/archives is not a mission of U.S. Army Materiel
Command. The scheduled closing date is September 30, 1993. Individuals
wishing to download software prior to that time should do so. No dump
files will be provided by White Sands Missile Range.
White Sands is attempting to locate a site that will provide archives
and repository service for DoD customers. At the present time,
discussions are under way with one possible site. If a site that will
assume the SIMTEL's mission is located, DoD customers of SIMTEL20 will
be notified by e-mail as to location and point of contact. Questions
concerning the closing should be addressed to:
