Coorporate America has neither the time, talent, or treasury to use a language such as Ada because there are not many people who use it. You must remember, COBOL and FORTRAN consists of more than 75% of the code out there. Going to Ada, a company would
lose all of the talent that it had. For example, you have COBOL programmers with 20+ years of experience. If I were a boss, I wouldn't lose all that experience to go to a language that many people don't know.
We cannot convert those programs either because of the time required.
