After reading your experiences with Verdix, I have a few
comments on using a Verdix port on our Alliant FX/2800 and
then a solution to your problem.
1. No Problems with a.ld.
2. Correct compilation order has always worked with "ada -d".
3. Yes. The ada.lib (ada libraries) are always getting screwed up.
Forcing recompiles of the whole system.
4. Strange things happen with generic packages
like...really slow compiles and messed up libraries. See 3 above.
5. Their support tools are really pretty underpowered.
6. The compiler gave an error on piwg h000008.a test.
7. However we have had few if any bad code generation problems,
and all were fixed immediately.
My solution to your problem...
