I'm very, very new to Ada, but I've just recently picked up an interest for it. I'm always on the lookout for "new" (to me) programming languages, but it's quite much just window shopping. But this time, I think I've come across with something that I'd actually like to learn. Seems that your blog will be something that I'll keep my eyes on! :) -Henrik ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 10+ messages in thread

Alright, looks good, thanks! Also if you have good tips on paper books, I'd be interested in hearing which one would be good. There seems to be this Ada 2012, although quite expensive. -Henrik On Thursday, 27 September 2018 18:36:55 UTC+3, Pascal Obry wrote: > Hi Henrik, > > If you are new to Ada and want to learn it, be sure to also have a look > here: ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 10+ messages in thread

Are you speaking about this one "Programming in Ada 2012" from John Barnes? Expensive yes, but a very good book to start with Ada 2012. -- Pascal Obry / Magny Les Hameaux (78) The best way to travel is by means of imagination http://www.obry.net gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key F949BD3B ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 10+ messages in thread

Of course, I'll help where I can, and ideas to blog about are most welcome. John Barnes' books are a definite must-have book for starting out in Ada. Also important books are 'Building Parallel, Embedded, and Real-Time Applications with Ada' and 'Building High Integrity Applications with Spark' You can find them, here ... I think Barnes' Ada 2012 will be the one I'll get, if I decide to go with a paperback. If, at some distant point in the future, I'll get serious about Ada professionally, then those other books might provide good value too. And no pressure Mark, I think I now start to have good learning references and your blog will be an interesting add-on to the process. :) -Henrik ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 10+ messages in thread
