Strange; it should at least use libc6, methinks.

I have a hunch that maybe you installed a 32-bit version of GNAT GPL
on a 64-bit operating system, or vice versa. Or maybe the Mac OS X
version on GNU/Linux, or something. Simon asked for the output of
"file gps_exe" which might provide another hint.
