The following came in the mail today:
...............................................................................
ALS/N Delivery Request Instructions
1. Enclosed are the requesting instructions that describe the availability
of various Ada Language System / Navy (ALS/N) products to all Navy
contractors (or any potential U.S. bidder). These products include
documentation and executables that allow for "hands on" experience
with the basic ALS/N technology (i.e. VAX/VMS host and target) and
associated user documentation that describes the Ada/L (32 bit) and
Ada/M (16 bit) retargets to the Navy standard embedded computers:
AN/UYK-43, AN/UYK-44 and AN/AYK-14. The cost of these products is only
for the reproduction and shipping of materials and is provided as a
service to promote fair and open competition for future Navy Ada
procurements.
2. Requests for Ada/L and Ada/M Version 2.0 executables will only be honored
for contractors and agencies that have current contractual requirements
to use these systems. These requests should be forwarded directly to the
respective Navy procurement office.
3. Any requests from outside the United States will be honored only if the
foreign organization needs the ALS/N CAB to complete a contract issued by
the United States Government. These requests should be handled by the
organization's contracting officer for processing through the Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) channels.
4. Any recipients of an AdaVAX version 2.0, 2.1, or 2.5 may get a half price
upgrade ($50) to AdaVAX Version 3.0 with associated upgraded documentation
by mailing the two tapes back to the address given in paragraph 8. Please
note that the contractually mandated delivery dates for these products are
January 1st and July 1st. Tape duplication, document reproduction, and
delivery may take up to (30) additional days after January 1st and
July 1st respectively.
6. As of 1 July 1989, the Ada Language System / Navy (ALS/N)
Common Ada Baseline (CAB) delivery package will be available upon
request per the instructions on this sheet. The available ALS/N
products are contained in a _basic package_ and an _optional package_.
Terms and conditions for using the AdaVAX Tools Subsystem, PSE Tools
Subsystem, and VAX/VMS System Program Library are contained
in the ALS/N distribution letter that is included in the basic package.
This version of the ALS/N CAB (Version 3.0) is for operation with
VAX/VMS version 5.1 and support for all previous ALS/N CAB versions
will be discontinued within six months.
