I fear the discussion about the "next Debian release" might solve itself all
by itself:

And no: it won't work with i686 either. I have a site dedicated to the

BTW, I appreciate that someone at least is trying to *do* something.

I started the following batch ;-) :

http://ada.krischik.com/uploads/Articles/build-gnat-gpl

and waited for about an hour ;-)

Of course the batch will only work when you have the right directory setup
and downloaded the right files. See:

http://ada.krischik.com/index.php/Articles/CompileGNATGPL

The batch will actually extract the download archives if they copied into
the right directory - and do the configure - that way I have reproducible
results.

;-) - there is no Linux x86_64 even true AdaCore now officially supports
that target. Interesting is that Linux x86 and Linux x86_64 are different
products and support need to be purchased separately. But then you have to
buy ASIS, PolyORB, XML/Ada support as an extra as well. And perhaps that is
the reason for the GPL Licence: They don't want there customers to pick up
a few free extra options.

If others *do* something as well: The site is Wiki based and
"build-gnat-gpl-tiger" or "build-gnat-gpl-freebsd" are of course welcome
(Just ask me for the upload password).

One more thing:

While I welcome any contribution I would ask that the "Summary" and "Author"
field are filled in. It make fighting WikiSpam easier - Spammers usually
don't have very Ada related"summary's" ;-).

That reminds me; I desire to have PowerPC support, as my desktop
computer is PowerPC based. Hopefully this won't be an issue with any
of the implementations...

If anyone wants me to test anything on PowerPC, please let me know.

gnat 3.15p on Debian already supports PowerPC and has for several years.
