SparForte version 2.2 was released over the holidays.

It is available for download from the SparForte website:

  https://www.sparforte.com/

This version brings preliminary programming-by-contract, side-effect detection and additional shell features. An overview can be found on my blog:

  https://www.pegasoft.ca/coder/coder_december_2018.html

There are also several recent blog articles on the design of SparForte, as requested by the mailing list subscribers.

SparForte is a shell, scripting language and web template engine with a core feature set based on Ada. I hope you will find it useful.

Note: I do not regularly read this newsgroup. Please direct questions to the SparForte mailing list.

I don't know what to make of Sparforte but the author has an interesting
rant about Python, and an online book (last updated 2009) about Ada on
Linux. The book is mostly about the toolchain but has an intro to the
language. I've only briefly glanced at it:

Perhaps this will help.

I graduated with an A average from university, focusing on language design. I am a CISSP security professional. I've more than 30 years experience with software engineering and architecture, Ada and Linux. I have written several several languages, of which SparForte is the largest. I've authored several articles and books.

My blog on software engineering has received a lot of praise for how well written and researched it is.

If anyone has questions they would like to ask me, please direct them in a respectful way to the SparForte mailing list and I will try to answer them.

Regards,
Ken B.

SparForte looks interesting and it's Ada-related enough that if you want
to hang out on comp.lang.ada and chat about it, that's great. But
posting to a newsgroup that you don't plan to participate in comes
across as spammy. I don't have any interest in being on a mailing list.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Paul.

The post was clearly marked as an announcement of an Ada related product.

I receive too much email to hang out on comp.lang.ada. If you feel more comfortable, email me directly with any questions.

The idea of a newsgroup is to NOT get email. If you're getting it
through email you're doing it wrong.

Paul, I did not say that. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have questions on SparForte.
