I am researching the methodology path that starts with structured
analysis/structured design ala Yourdon and then flows into OOD and
Ada/PDL and then Ada as the programming language. There is interest in
this because it seems that SA/SD has been nicely packaged and
merchandised by e.g.:Yourdon and there is some tool support e.g.:
Tektronix on Vax. System's engineers seem to like the SA/SD because
they deal in the functional spec world with the customer. i.e.: The
teachings of the 1970's seem to be reduced to practice and we need
to adapt the Ada methodologies to it for now.
I am aware of the Lockheed/Austin work on this subject, also
Kirkham et al of univ of Bradford and Privitera of Ford Aero.
I am requesting vectors to any other related work. I will
collate and post all replies in about 2 weeks. Thanks in advance
for any contributions. p.s. also vectors to supporting tools.
regards, sam harbaugh
