I would like to know if there are any inexpensive ways for a DARPA funded
research program to obtain an inexpensive (or maybe even free) Ada compiler.

At one time I thought that the ALS System was being virtually given away,
but I have just been told that ALS/N is NOT being distributed in source form
at all. Does anyone know what the current availability of the ALS (or its
derivitives) is? Who would I contact to get more info?

Also, I have heard that there may be some other compilers which might be
readily available for a minimal expenditure. Even if they are not finished
products, that would be fine. I heard that there may be Ada compiler efforts
in progress at Carnegie-Mellon University and/or at Wright-Patterson.

Does anybody have the real facts?
