Conceivably the system manager could be deceived by a counterfeit
distribution kit for a well-known product. Or even the real kit
for a well-known product that has a secret back door to make it
behave in a trojan horse fashion.
It is easier (but not truly easy) to evaluate operating systems
than to evaluate all the applications that run on them.
