I have a client who needs information on certifying themselves with the
ADA as well as their dog. This client suffers from Seizures and the
dog has become acutely aware of these seizures before they come;
therefore, she wants to certify the dog as a seizure dog. I cannot
find any info on the net that provides this information...only places
that will sell you a certified dog....Please help.

Lori,

I am sorry, but I am afraid this newsgroup will be unhelpful in your
case. The ``ada'' in ``comp.lang.ada'' stands for ``Ada,'' which is
not an acronym but the name of the daughter of Lord Byron. She's
considered the first programmer in the world, and a great
programming language is named after her. This programming language,
then, is the subject of this newsgroup.

Burn's Hog Weighing Method:
        (1) Get a perfectly symmetrical plank and balance it across a
            sawhorse.
        (2) Put the hog on one end of the plank.
        (3) Pile rocks on the other end until the plank is again
            perfectly balanced.
        (4) Carefully guess the weight of the rocks.

It is an interesting coincidence though. I have a dog which is trained
to spot off-topic posts, and it just started having seizures...

C'mon guys, lighten up...while this surely has nothing to do with Ada
the
language--it couldn't hurt to point out that the correct place to
inquire
is the local chapter of the Seeing Eye Foundation. And even if the
local
chapter is unable to certify the dog in question for this use; they
should
be able to refer to a local trainer who can.

It does make one wonder though: what kind of validation tests are used,
and
should they be written in Ada :-)
