I still consider this to be a FAR too extensive
implementation dependency, it means that programs
that work fine on one compiler malfunction in the
most odd way on another, because locks are simply
mysteriously missing.

As I noted, GNAT has NO intention of taking advantage
of this optimization freedom, which seems extremely
marginal in any case.
