No no, I assure you the question was posted in good faith.  :-)

The advert that prompted this was one offering information about
up-coming training in the language.  I have never felt comfortable
advertising here on c.l.a. and wondered how people felt about it.  Note
that I'm not saying anybody has crossed any kind of line -- that's post
in response to the one that prompted my question -- I just wanted to
know how readers felt about it.
