I am currently completing a 2-year M.Eng. project involving the development of
a suite of Ada packages, designed for use in genetic algorithm research. I
would like to make the source files available via anonymous ftp, so that
future researchers will be able to make use of the software (this being the
intention of the project).

What facilities are available for archiving this sort of material at
globally accessible ftp sites? Can someone suggest some sites that would be
appropriate for this project, and provide instructions on how to get the files
archived. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Please mail replies, as I don't have time to read these groups every day.

Thanks,
Max Edwards

I suggest contacting:
ASSET
2611 Cranberry Square
Morgantown, WV 26505
304/594-3954
fax: 304/594-3951
Internet: info@source.asset.com
or
Ada Information Clearinghouse(AdaIC)
PO Box 1866
Falls Church, VA 22204
Telephone: 1-800-AdaIC-11, 1-800/232-4211 or 703/681-2466
Fax: 703/681-2869
Email: adainfo@sw-eng.falls-church.va.us

I wouldn't mind getting a discription of your stuff and its possible use
in the application side of things. Could your work be embedded in a
translator/interpreter (like the old BASIC environment) to refine user's
programs?

Thanks to all who replied to my posting, with information and offers of a
place on their archive site. I am planning to archive the software here in
York, UK, and at one other site; I will post the addresses to these groups,
and invite anyone with a relevant site to take a copy for themselves. This
will be in about 3 to 5 weeks, if all goes accoriding to plan.

I was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the replies I received - it made
me feel that bit more useful!

Thanks again,
Max Edwards.
